Allison
I want to let you know that I admire your strength as you make a decision about the family who will raise the child you love. Thank you so much for taking the time to learn more about my family and how your child would fit into our lives!
Building my Family
My path to creating a family was not what I had expected. With the assistance of modern medicine, I welcomed my first child into my life over 2 years ago. I knew I wanted to be a mom and I love it! I am excited about parenting two children and experiencing the joy of another child through adoption!
About me
I grew up in a close-knit Christian family in Minnesota. I remember many days spent on Grandma and Grandpa's farm with my cousins, aunts, and uncles. I have fond memories of weekends camping and family vacations with my brother and parents. I am lucky that my family enjoys spending time together for special occasions and just-because. I have always enjoyed a variety of activities. There is rarely a day that goes by that I'm not outside, whether it's a morning run or bike ride; time at the beach; a walk on a frozen lake; or taking in fall colors on a hike. I feed my creative side through photography, gardening, and sewing.
Noah
Noah is all boy -active, adventurous, imaginative, fun-loving, social, and always ready with a hug. His best friends are Mommy, Grandma, Papa, and Max. He loves to play with trains, trucks, and jungle animals. He often plays the piano or "reads" a book to Max. It's a treat to spend time with his 3 year old and 7 month old cousins. Noah dotes on the baby and makes sure he always has a toy to play with and one more love pat. He will make a great big brother!
Max
Our chocolate lab Max – named after the Grinch's dog – is as loyal, gentle, and big-hearted as her namesake.
Family and Friends
My cousins and I are close. We now share recipes, antidotes about our children, household advice, and plants from our gardens. My friends, too, have been supportive of my decisions. Noah and I have fun sledding, watching parades, enjoying parks, and playing in backyards with our friends and their children. I have confidence in the resources – the village – I have to help me raise my family.
Our Life
I have a rewarding career in finance that offers me the flexibility to balance work and family. Family-time is my first priority. When motherhood has required me to adapt my schedule, I have easily been able to do that. With Grandma and Papa close by, there is someone ready to step in to help. Life with me is about experiences. It's about zoos, music, swimming, hikes, walks, and traveling. It's about getting dirty splashing in puddles and remembering that life is for enjoying. I am reminded that life is best when you wake up singing. Every night will find us snuggled in an armchair reading books until we can't keep our eyes open any longer.
Values
I try every day to be a living example of my values. I believe in a warm, loving, playful household. I believe in respect, responsibility and being a child while you are a child. I believe relationships with family and friends are important. I believe in responsibility to self, others, community, and the planet. I believe in being a good neighbor and paying it forward. I truly love being a mother and I look forward to welcoming another child into my home, family, and heart.
