Your love for this child has led you to make an admirable and courageous choice—a choice that will bring love and joy to a lucky family. We are honored that you have chosen to consider us.
About US
We met on the dance floor, swing dancing, eight years ago. Our love for each other grew out of a solid friendship, and we were married two years later. We found ourselves on many adventures through travel, artistic pursuits and outdoor activities. And then the biggest adventure and blessing of all arrived—we adopted our son, Lucas! We love being the parents of an adopted child and we are excited to add the joy and laughter of a second child to our family!
Our first adoption was a wonderful experience!
We are so blessed to have Lucas, who came to us through adoption. We think of his birthmother every day and will be forever grateful for the gift she gave us. We will make sure that Lucas knows how much she loves him, and that it was her love for him that led her to choose adoption.
We are excited to have the opportunity to nurture and love a second adopted child of any race or ethnicity. We are also excited to welcome you into our lives, at whatever your comfort level may be.
About BRUCE by Lisa
Besides being an excellent dance partner, Bruce is the best life partner I could hope for. He is friendly and outgoing, with a goofy sense of humor—which makes him a kid magnet! Bruce loves his job working on wind farms as an environmental scientist, but his first priority is always our family. He is a loving, energetic, and hands-on dad: he changes  Lucas' diapers, gives him baths, and comforts him in the middle of the night as well as wrestling, playing ball and going on bike rides with him. Bruce never turns down an opportunity to spend time with Lucas. I love that about him!
About LISA by Bruce
Lisa is a wonderful, creative, and loving person. She studied ballet and modern dance as a child. She went into arts education after leaving her professional dance career and now runs her own theater company. She encourages Lucas' artistic side by bringing him to music classes once a week. Lisa is very close with her family and they visit regularly. Lisa loves to explore our garden with Lucas, showing him all the beautiful flowers. She is endlessly patient with Lucas and is always there when Lucas needs a kiss and a hug. She is a wonderful mother and the most supportive and caring wife I could ever ask for.
About LUCAS by Mommy and Daddy
Lucas is a happy, affectionate toddler who gives really great hugs. He loves going bye-bye, whether it's to music class with Mommy, to swimming class with Daddy, or a ride around the block on his favorite tricycle. He also loves playing with cars (he calls them vroom-vrooms), climbing upwards on slides, and having dance parties with Mommy and Daddy. He is a sweet and curious little boy, and we think he'll be an amazing big brother!
Our FAMILY
We both come from close families and have strong relationships with our parents and siblings. Our extended families were thrilled to welcome Lucas, and have been excitedly asking us, "When will you adopt another one?" They can't wait for another grandchild, niece or nephew! We are especially lucky to have Bruce's mom living with us—Grandma Mary takes care of Lucas during the week and takes him to story times at the library and playground outings. She speaks to Lucas in Portuguese during the day, so he's already learning two languages.
Our HOME
We live in a diverse, urban neighborhood where children meet each other at nearby playgrounds, the library, and just walking down the street. We recently built a new home and made sure that there is plenty of room for our family to grow in it.
Our VALUES
Both of us were raised in Christian households where we were taught to treat others as you want to be treated. As parents, we want to teach our children to respect the beliefs and cultures of others, and to respect the planet and the diversity of life it sustains. We want to encourage and support our children to achieve their dreams, and to provide them with a safe and happy home.
