We are Bryan and Kristin, and we appreciate this opportunity to introduce ourselves to you. We admire your courage and strength in considering adoption as an option for you and your baby. The following is just a snapshot of our lives, but we hope it will show you how committed we are to giving your baby unconditional love, a warm and caring home, and a life full of laughter and adventure. About us — We met in college through mutual friends and married in 1999. Early on we shared an appreciation for the outdoors, which continues to this day. We have long wished for a family to share in these activities with us. Kristin is adopted so when we learned we could not have a biological family, we knew adoption was a good option for us. Our friends and families are excited about our decision. As a result, we know any child placed in our home will be welcomed with many open arms. Kristin on Bryan — Bryan is funny, smart, and creative. He makes a mean cheesecake and can put up a tent in 5 minutes flat. Every day he finds a way to make me smile. Kids enjoy Bryan because he is so willing to run around outside and play with them. When little friends come to visit, "Where's Bryan?" is the first thing they say when they walk in the door. Bryan on Kristin — Kristin loves to laugh, and she can find the bright side of most anything. Even when she sings off key, which is often, she does it with enthusiasm. Kids gravitate to Kristin because she will drop everything to read a book, stop by the Dairy Queen, or go for a walk with them. She is the first person our friends call when they need a babysitter. She is always happy to oblige. Our hearts belong to Minnesota — We spent the early years of our marriage in the Twin Cities and loved every minute of it. We eventually relocated to South Dakota to be closer to our families. We return to the Twin Cities often to shop, cheer on the Wild and the Twins, and spend time with Bryan's brother, Kelly.
We also enjoy spending time with our closest friends, many of whom we have known since our college days. During the winter, we get together for dinner and games. In the summer, we golf together and spend time at the local water park. Our friends have become like a second family to us, and we look forward to raising our children next to theirs. Our families — We each have two brothers so there is never a dull moment when our families get together! We cannot wait to introduce our children to the unique traditions and fun memories that make our families special. Bryan's parents live near Alexandria, MN. Their love of the holidays is evident from the lights that emblazon their home each November and December. Grandchildren have only strengthened their desire to make their home the most festive on the block. Bryan's brother, Kelly, lives in St. Paul, and is a wonderful host when we are in town. His brother, Matt, his wife, Erin, and their kids, Avery (51/2) and Ayden (3), live down the street from us. Being so close means the kids can stop by to say "Hi" and play fetch with Walter whenever they like. Kristin's parents live just over the Minnesota border. They love to travel and look forward to showing their grandchildren all of the interesting places they have visited. On the weekends we often spend the day with them, playing golf or a few hands of cards. Kristin's brother, Ryan, and his wife, Tonya, often join us as they live nearby too.
