Dear Birthmother,
We appreciate that you are taking the time to explore adoption. By reading our letter, you will see how much love and support your child will receive in our home and are hopeful that you will find us as an excellent choice of parents for your child.

Our History
Our names are Kim and Chad and our story starts 17 years ago. We both grew up in Northern Minnesota and attended the same high school. We met our freshmen year in a physical education class. Our meeting was truly an accident. Chad's gym class was in a dance unit with too many boys, so they raided the study hall room looking for dance partners. We immediately made eye contact, and as the class began Chad positioned himself so that we would have the first dance together. As it turns out, we have been dancing together ever since. After dating through high school and college, we have been happily married for eight years. It was never a question that we would one day start a family; it was just a matter of how and when. After struggling with infertility, we decided to pursue adoption. We have an 18-month-old adopted son named Grant and are excited to add another child to our family through adoption.

Chad on Kim
These are the words that I would choose to describe Kim: loving, caring, intelligent, generous, compassionate, and motivated. Kim's motivation was evident in college as she was an honor student while playing competitive varsity volleyball. Her motivation and intelligence has lead to her success as a marketing manager for a worldwide company. Our nieces and nephew love her because she is compassionate and caring. They call "Auntie" on the phone to discuss any problems they may be having because they know that she will listen and give them advice. Kim is also very generous as she is an active participant in both Toys for Tots and Habitat for Humanity. Each holiday season she delivers toys to an inner city school in Minneapolis and each summer she pounds nails on a new Habitat for Humanity house.

The thing that I admire the most about her is the way she shows her love. During the holidays, she bakes dozens upon dozens of cookies and dog treats and shares them with family, friends, and neighbors. She also makes a point to spend quality time with her nieces and nephew. Whether it is cheering in the stands at a hockey game, watching dance recitals, or going to the zoo they know "Auntie" loves and cares for them. As a mother, Kim is very calm, caring, and nurturing. Grant's eyes light up every time she walks into the room. She loves to spend time with Grant whether it is giving him a bath, reading a bedtime story, or taking him to the park. There is no doubt that Kim is an excellent mother and she is looking forward to sharing her love with another child.

Kim on Chad
I would describe Chad as: caring, fun, intelligent, hardworking, patient, and honest. Chad's intelligence and hard work allowed him to graduate with honors with a secondary education degree while playing varsity hockey in college. His work ethic has allowed Chad to conquer new things like remodeling our house to include a warm and inviting kitchen where he loves to cook pizza. Chad loves working with children of all ages whether it is in the classroom or on the athletic field. Most mornings before school, you can find Chad in his chemistry classroom tutoring students. His patience, compassion and honesty are what his students and players love and respect about him the most.

He understands the value of having fun and enjoying experiences. He does this by inviting his varsity hockey players to our home before a big game for a lasagna dinner or taking his science class to Valleyfair. He also enjoys spending time with family and friends. One of his favorite places to do this is at the family cabin. It is there that he spends time fishing with his godson, four wheeling with his brother, and water skiing with his sister. Chad loves to spend time with our son Grant. He enjoys taking Grant for a stroller ride, teaching him how to swim, and just chase him around the house. During all of these activities there is one thing for sure. Grant has a big smile on his face. Chad's caring and giving nature help make him an incredible person who is a wonderful father.

Our Extended Family
We come from happy, loving and supportive families with whom we spend as much time with as possible throughout the year. Our parents live in northern Minnesota with our siblings spread between the Twin Cities and our hometown. Between the two of us, we have three sisters, two brothers, several nieces and a nephew. We spend all of the major holidays together and attend as many birthday parties as possible for our family members. One of our favorite places to spend time is at a cabin in Northwestern Wisconsin. Every 4th of July, both sides of our family gather there to barbeque brats and hamburgers, swim in the lake, and watch fireworks while roasting marshmallows on the beach. We also enjoy walking and playing with our golden retriever, Lexie. We live in a safe and friendly southwestern suburb of Minneapolis. Our home is within walking distance of multiple parks, lakes, schools, and the local library.

Our Future Family
As a family, we believe in simple truths and values: children are a miracle to be loved unconditionally. Every child is special and should be encouraged to explore the gifts and talents each was born with. No one should ever stop learning or growing. Happiness does not lie in having things; it lives in our hearts, our friends, and our family. We cannot imagine the rollercoaster of feelings you must be having, but we hope that you will be comforted in knowing that children raised in our home will grow up with love and a safe home. We will help your child become someone who would make you proud.

Final Thoughts
We look forward to sharing our lives and experiences with your child and will always share that you made this decision with great care. Please know that we will never forget the gift you have given us and we will provide your child the very best that life can offer. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time as you make this important decision.

With heartfelt respect and admiration!

Chad and Kim
