Our names are David and Necia; we have a three-year old son by adoption named Darien, and we are looking forward to adopting a second child. It is such a selfless act of love to consider adoption for your child. You are very courageous and we respect you; your profound love for your child is very apparent. We appreciate this opportunity to share more about our family. Dave loves to make people laugh with his dry sense of humor. He has diverse interests ranging from the flute to football! David has a deep love of music and attends concerts and performs whenever possible. He enjoys staying active, with weight-lifting, swimming and rock-climbing at the top of his list. He grew up in the suburbs of Denver and enjoys the benefits of having a city nearby. Dave is a loving husband to me; he is faithful and honest, and the quality of our relationship is one of his highest priorities. Fatherhood suits Dave well; he enjoys watching children learn new things and develop their individuality. He loves playing basketball with Darien at home or just taking him for a bike ride around the neighborhood. David is a very patient parent and a great teacher. -Necia Necia is a loving and passionate person whose long-term goals always center around helping other people. In her past work with handicapped people and in her daily life she is attentive to people's needs. One thing that has always impressed me about Necia is how nurturing she is when caring for children; she patiently deals with any stubborn moments. Whether it's trying new foods or skiing for the first time, she is a fun-loving, adventurous person. Necia has a love for animals that was inspired by her upbringing on a farm in Western New York – a childhood that she would not trade. Necia loves the stage, and enjoys both watching and participating in drama productions. -Dave Adoption has been a precious gift in our lives. We are so grateful to Darien's birthmother for choosing us as his parents. Darien has a laid-back personality, staying calm in many situations that would cause other children to bawl. He enjoys reading stories with anyone who will indulge him. He likes running, jumping and playing ball but can also play quietly with all types of toy vehicles. Darien loves babies and is gentle and loving around his infant cousin, who was also recently adopted. He is helpful and thoughtful and often shares his blankie with other children in need of comfort. Darien has brought us so much joy and we feel he is ready to embrace a little sister or brother.
Our friends and family are a great support system for us as our family grows. We were both raised in homes where family time was a high priority and we are trying to continue that legacy in our own family. Adoption is a natural way for our extended family to grow; several of our family members were adopted. It is important for us to stay in touch with our families by frequent phone calls and e-mail, and we see them as often as possible. Necia's family is large and spread across the country so it is a grand occasion when they all gather. David's younger sister and her husband live about an hour away and his parents and older sister have been able to come and visit for holidays. We have been privileged to develop close friendships that have truly become our extended family. Whether it's trading childcare, play dates, or just getting together for a movie night, we treasure the time spent with friends. We are doing our best to create a fun, loving and respectful home. David works as a Data Security Analyst in information technology and his dependable work hours allow us to spend plenty of time together as a family. Necia left her career to become a full-time mother so our child has her love and attention at home each day. We are careful to encourage Darien's individuality and give him unconditional love. We plan to teach our children that good character is more valuable than any We admire your decision to pursue an adoption plan for your child.
