Hello from Dewey and Shannon! Thank you for taking the time to learn about us, and our desire to build a family. We admire your strength and courage for considering an adoption plan for your child. We hope our letter shows you the love we have for each other and the love we have to give a child.

We are truly excited to build our family through adoption. Although we are unable to have biological children, we've always dreamed of having a family! And we can't wait to become parents! Adoption was a natural choice for us because it is already an important part of our lives. Our niece was adopted in 2006, and eight years ago, Shannon's cousin joined our family through adoption. We have a strong support system and our friends and family understand what adoption is all about.

Best Friends...
During our eight-year marriage, we have strengthened as individuals and grown together as a couple. We have built a solid foundation for a family based on love, open communication, and respect. We are best friends and love spending time together. Whether we are completing a project around our home, taking our dog, Scout, for a walk, driving to the apple orchard or enjoying a casual dinner with friends, we love to be busy! We look forward to introducing our future child to many cultural experiences, and are excited to share our zest for life!

About Shannon...
Friendly and outgoing, Shannon has a positive outlook on life. She is sensitive and compassionate, caring deeply for those around her. Since family is our number one priority, Shannon recently took a job that will allow her to work part-time when the little one arrives. A scrapbook enthusiast, Shannon is eagerly awaiting the day that she can put a family album together. She has an open heart and will be a wonderful mother!

About Dewey...
Dewey is dedicated, driven, and has a great sense of humor. Dewey manages a team of construction workers who build indoor climbing walls throughout the country. He enjoys his job and is very skilled in this line of work. An avid outdoorsman, Dewey enjoys golfing, fishing, and hiking with our dog, Scout. Dewey will make a great father and role model!

Our Family and Friends...
We both grew up in loving and supporting homes, where our parents encouraged us to pursue our goals. Our homes were always filled with laughter and activity, and we plan to model our family after that example. We have a close group of friends, and we spend time with them and their children going for boat rides, celebrating birthdays and splashing at pool parties. We were honored when our good friends asked us to be the Godparents for their son. We can't wait to bring a child into our circle of friends and family and share many new adventures with them!

Our Traditions...
We learned a great deal from our parents regarding the importance of family and creating fun family traditions. We love spending time with our extended families during the holiday season. There's never a dull moment with our many aunts, uncles and cousins! Each summer, we vacation with Shannon's family, where we stay in a cozy cabin and enjoy the lakes of northern Minnesota. With a child, we envision spending hours skipping rocks on the water, roasting marshmallows over the campfire and watching the boats parade by. We're excited to share our close-knit family environment and traditions with our future child.

Our Home and Neighborhood...
We live in a charming, 1-1/2 story home with a big back yard and plenty of room for a growing family. Our neighborhood is family-friendly with playgrounds, libraries, walking paths and parks nearby. We're excited to share experiences with our child at places like the Children's Museum, Como Zoo, Children's Theater and Underwater World. Our house is the perfect place for raising children!

Life with us...
We'll provide a child with opportunities for education and athletics, while giving him/her the freedom to explore their own special interests. You can be assured your child will be raised in a fun, safe, and supportive home, knowing that you made your adoption plan out of love.
