Hello!

We are Jim and Aimee and are very excited to be expanding our family through adoption! Our story began when we met on the Internet. It wasn't long before we realized we had found our 'soul mate' in one another. We married as a family with Tyler, Aimee's son from a previous marriage, standing beside us at the wedding.

When we learned that we could not have a biological child, adoption became the perfect way to expand our family. It is impossible to tell you everything about us in two pages, so we hope this letter inspires you to want to learn more. You will learn that family is the most important thing to us. You will learn that our household is filled with laughter, cuddling, hugs, kisses and unconditional love. And you will learn that we are a family you can trust.

As you explore your many options, we hope you'll choose us knowing that we can provide the security, stability, happiness and love every child deserves.

About our families
We are extremely lucky to have two loving, helpful and supportive families. Both of us are very close to our families and try to spend as much time with them as possible. Although our families do not live in Minnesota, we get to see them often and spend most holidays with them. Our entire family is very excited and supportive about our decision to adopt and looks forward to the addition of a cousin/niece/nephew/grandchild.

Summer vacations provide our family a chance to explore Minnesota as well as other parts of the country where we have family and friends. Having enjoyed so many great childhood memories of our own, we are eager to have the opportunity to now share them with our children.

Jim is not only my other half but my very best friend! I have never met a man who is more caring, honest, and thoughtful. Not only does he have a great sense of humor and a tremendous heart, but he is a devoted husband and father. He is amazing with children and he has become a wonderful father figure to Tyler. In fact, Tyler calls himself "mini me" because he wants to be just like Jim. Jim is extremely smart and knowledgeable and he takes pride in everything he does. Aside from his job as a financial analyst, he is an excellent cook, loves sports, and above all, enjoys spending time with us. The thing I love most about Jim is that he always finds ways to make people feel special and loved. -Aimee

Aimee is an amazing woman who is the love of my life! Before meeting Aimee, I seriously wondered if I would ever find the qualities I was searching for in a wife – loving, caring, honest, compassionate, strong family ties, a sense of humor – in one woman. Lucky for me, Aimee and I found each other and my life has been better every day because of it. I marvel at how Aimee can juggle so many tasks and excel at all of them. Where Aimee differs from many motivated people is that although she has a successful career as an accountant, she continually puts her family first. Whether leaving work early to pick Tyler up from school to take him to karate, or volunteering to answer phones for the KS-95 for Kids radiothon, her devotion to our family and friends is an endearing quality that attracted me to her from day one! -Jim

Tyler is a typical little boy. He loves to play games, use the computer, watch cartoons, play baseball, wrestle and eat us out of house and home! Tyler takes swimming lessons and recently earned 2nd and 3rd place trophies in a national karate competition. He loves 1st grade and enjoys reading to us at bedtime! Each night, we spend time together as a family at the dinner table and talk about our day at work or school. Many nights we play games, read or have some quiet cuddle time on the couch before bed. It gives us both so much joy to see the positive influence our parenting has had on him.

Tyler is looking forward to becoming a big brother so he can teach a sibling about all the things he enjoys doing. He loves to pretend that he is a parent to his stuffed animals, and we are certain that he will be a great big brother!

Our home
We live in a wonderful family neighborhood where children are always outside playing. A new playground was built across the street last year, too! We live very close to excellent schools, and we value education and the role it will play as our children grow. We have a four bedroom house with a room ready and waiting for a new baby, a great hill in the backyard for sledding, and plenty of books, games and toys to expand and enlighten a child's mind.

We believe that the best quality of our home is the love, laughter, and happiness found inside. There is no lack of excitement and fun in our lives! We look forward to the day when the sound of a baby, coupled with the giggles of a young boy, makes our home complete.

Things we enjoy
We love spending time together as a family and cherish the moments that bring us so much happiness. We have been to the Children's Museum, the Science Museum, countless movies and parks, bowling, the corn maze, the State Fair and, of course, to the dome to see the Twins play baseball. On weekends, we enjoy bike riding, taking walks, playing ball in the front yard, running through sprinklers, or drawing on the driveway with chalk. Family vacations are typically to places where we can spend time with loved ones and friends. We have explored inside a cave, an aquarium and the zoo. We've picnicked in numerous parks, gone horseback riding, sledding and experienced so many other activities. We can't wait to share these places and things with another child.

Final thoughts
Being parents has been such a great joy and privilege, and we are looking forward to welcoming another special baby into our lives! We hope our letter has given you a sense of who we are and about how enthusiastic we are to adopt. We will offer your child a life filled with love, security and joy and would like the opportunity to get to know you and to hear about the dreams you have for your child.
