Mitch & Shawna

Thank You for having the strength and courage to consider placing your child for adoption. We know that you have a difficult decision to make and that with your love, you will make the best choice for your child. Thank you also for giving us this opportunity to introduce ourselves and tell you about our family.

We Both grew up in small towns and when we met in college we quickly found that we had a lot in common. We have been married for almost 10 years and we always imagined raising children together. When we were told that we could not conceive, we immediately chose the path of adoption. We adopted our son Anthony when he was 8 months old and we have remained in contact with his birth family. We are so thankful to them for the gift they gave us and we are anxious for the opportunity to adopt another child.

Shawna is such a fun and loving person, and I am so lucky to have her in my life. Her spunky personality and sense of humor always keep me smiling! Shawna is an educator, currently working as a Special Education Administrator. She loves photography and can be frequently found taking pictures. Shawna also enjoys creating digital photobooks, scrapbooking with friends and reading. Shawna is passionate about everything she does in life and is an incredible mother and wife. I am so grateful to be with her, and I can not wait to continue our journey together!

Mitch is tons of fun and has a great sense of humor! He often entertains our family and friends with his jokes and funny stories. He has a strong work ethic and takes pride in completing projects. Mitch is great with computers and works as a software engineer at IBM.

Mitch has a small woodshop in our garage and he has custom built a lot of the furniture in our home. He loves to play sports, especially basketball and softball, and is an avid Minnesota Twins fan. Mitch is an incredibly active father and he amazes me with how patient he is with our son. I can not imagine anyone more perfect than Mitch to spend my life with!

Anthony is almost 5 and he is full of energy! Like most boys, he loves cars, trucks and riding his bike. He also loves to play baseball, soccer and go swimming at the YMCA. Anthony talks about becoming a big brother and he would love to have a little brother or sister.

We Live in southeastern Minnesota at the end of a cul-de-sac with great neighbors. We often spend time in the summer grilling and eating supper on our deck, or just playing around on the play set. Visiting parks, attending sporting events and riding our bikes on the nearby trails are just a few of the activities we enjoy doing together in our community.

Family Traditions are something we both value—especially making lefse. We both grew up making lefse with our Grandmas and now we enjoy making it together. We also enjoy getting together with our families, whether it's for a weekend or just meeting for dinner. Gatherings with Mitch's family are always an adventure: kids playing, eating great food, and everyone joking around. Our families are both very supportive of our decision to adopt again and they are eager to welcome another child into the family.

For Fun we enjoy camping with friends and family throughout the spring, summer and fall. We often camp with Mitch's family. We have a great time playing all sorts of games together, going fishing and four-wheeling, and sharing stories around the campfire. We also love to take family vacations. Some of our favorites include Duluth, Wisconsin Dells, and Chicago.

Some of the other things we enjoy doing together include playing games, watching movies, attending Wisconsin Badger football games, going to the zoo, and family Wii night. We also both enjoy taking pictures of our many adventures.
