Our Commitment to You
Our commitment to you is that we will provide unconditional love for our children. Our adoption experience with our son, Caleb, has taught us how lucky we are and what a great responsibility his birth family entrusted to us. We feel blessed every single day that adoption has given us the opportunity to have a family.

If you desire an ongoing relationship with us, we would be thrilled, but if you desire less involvement with us, that is also very understandable. We currently have a very open relationship with Caleb's birth family, which has worked well for all of us. Either way, our child will always know that this was a choice made with great sacrifice and love on your part.

Our First Adoption Experience
Caleb was born in September 2007, and he joined our family straight from the hospital. We are blessed to have a very close relationship with his birth family, as we want him to know that they will always be part of his life. We would love to have a similar relationship with you if you wish. Regardless, we are thrilled to adopt once again!

Our Background
Our journey together began when we met in fifth grade. Friends throughout school, it wasn't until college we realized we were ready for more. We dated until we finished college, and were married twelve years ago. Our family grew to three after our first adoption in 2007.

While parenting is our primary focus, we both work outside the home. Patrick works as a software engineer for a very flexible software company, and Kari works as a member service lender at a local credit union.

We also enjoy spending time with our families, and we are lucky enough to have most of them in our lives on a daily basis. Kari's mom runs an in-home daycare, and we are able to bring Caleb there when we work. Patrick's parents and his entire family all live within 5 miles, which enables us to get together often for family fun. The cousins love to play together, swim in the kiddie pool, or head to a local park. In the winter, the whole group of us spends a weekend at a hotel and water park, which is a blast. Kari's dad and stepmom live in Washington State, where we spend many vacations visiting relatives.

Our Family Life
As a family, we enjoy: parks, picnics, the zoo, pumpkin patches, sledding, the Children's Museum, and Easter egg hunts. As our children grow, we are looking forward to family camping trips and vacations. We will also include them in our volunteering efforts like Feed My Starving Children and Operation Christmas Child through our church.

In our suburban Minneapolis home, a typical day in our family includes lots of laughing, riding bikes, playing in the yard, eating dinner together, and reading stories and listening to music before bed. On the weekends, Caleb and Kari like to cook together. Patrick and Caleb enjoy playing tag and racing toy cars. As a family, we like to have living room picnics and build forts out of card tables and blankets.
