THANK YOU! We are forever grateful for wonderful people like you, who are courageous enough to take an incredibly difficult situation and turn it into a dream come true for adoptive parents. We were blessed to adopt our daughter Sophia in 2009, and are so excited for the opportunity to have another child to love and complete our family.
As a family, we make sure to spend time having fun everyday! Cooking dinner is much more fun when you can turn on some tunes and dance around the kitchen! We love snuggling in bed on a weekend morning and watching a couple of cartoons, reading bedtime stories, making good use of our family pass to the zoo, catching a play at the children's Theater, swinging in the hammock, grilling out on the deck, and the list goes on...
As parents, it is also important to us that we raise our children in a Christian environment, teach them to have strong values, encourage them to explore their interests and creativity and provide the opportunity for a college education.
About Us…
We began dating while we were both attending college in Duluth. Shortly after graduating, we said our "I do's" and have been happily married ever since. We've always known that we wanted to have children, and after finding out that we would be unable to conceive biological children, we knew that adoption is the way that our family is meant to grow.
Meet Nikki…
Nikki is kind, creative and intelligent, and, of course, she loves being a mom! She leads by example and has a blast introducing our daughter to activities that she enjoys, including gardening, trips to the Farmers Market, interior design projects (never too early to learn how to paint!), afternoons at the lake and meeting up with her mom and sisters for some shopping or a girls' weekend.
Family always comes first for Nikki, and fortunately, her engineering job is flexible and enables her to work from home when needed. She also plans to take 6 months off when we are again blessed with a child to adopt.
Meet Tom…
Tom is honest, kind and intelligent, and he has a great sense of humor that keeps everyone laughing continuously. His fun personality makes people instantly comfortable around him, which is a trait that definitely comes in handy as he manages the family business.
Tom has Mondays off, so these have become "Daddy Days", which often means that the living room gets turned into a fort and every book and toy we own get spread around the house! Besides being a dad, Tom enjoys hunting, home improvement projects and watching or playing sports (baseball is usually his first choice, with football and golf not far behind).
Meet Sophia…
We were blessed by adoption with our daughter Sophia, and it has made us true believers in the saying, "what's meant to be will be"! We continue to have regular contact with Sophia's birthparents, and they love being able to see what a happy & healthy little girl she is. Sophia is an adorable, fun-‐loving little diva! We never know what's going to come out of her mouth next – she recently introduced us to a store sales woman as "these are my friends, mommy and daddy"! She loves singing and dancing, reading books, putting together puzzles, and anything to do with amusement parks – her ultimate goal is to ride a roller coaster!
Our Families
We are both fortunate to be surrounded by wonderful, loving and supportive families, and they can't wait to welcome a new little one into the family. Nikki has two sisters and 2 adorable nephews (one who is adopted), and Tom has two sisters, a brother, five adorable nephews and two beautiful nieces. We have lots of fun together and make it a point to get together often.
Our Home
We have a beautiful home located on five acres of land just 30 minutes southeast of St. Paul. Inside, our home is spacious, comfortable and welcoming. Outside, there is lots of space to run and play, and a great backyard for a playhouse and swing set. We get the best of all worlds – we can watch the wonders of nature from our deck, yet we live in a fun neighborhood where there are many young families with children close by.
Thank you for considering us as potential adoptive parents for your baby. We hope this letter provides you with a sense of our values, and the unconditional love and commitment that we have to offer. We'd welcome an opportunity to talk with you further about the hopes and dreams that you have for your baby.
